This all struck me as fitting this morning. We are in a time of change. Time is marching on and with that brings new seasons in life and ministry. What we once were is not what we always will be. The Bible speaks to Christians as being new creatures in Christ. Romans 12:2 tells us “do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (NET) The word transform means changed. So, as followers of Christ, we need to be changed in our thinking. Not letting the world’s influence cram us into its mold so that we are the same, but to be growing and changing to become more like Christ.
The season is changing. As the leaves change, there is no way to accurately predict what color they will turn or when they will fall off. That is true for us. We can’t know what will happen in the coming days, months or years. All we do know is that things are changing. I’m new to you and you are new to me. It is an exciting time of change for all of us. It is my prayer that we grow and change together. For I am sure of this very thing, that the one who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus! (Philippians 1:6 NET)
